Louisiana Comes to Long Beach!
Rainbow Promotions, LLC will be hosting their 26th Annual Long Beach Bayou Festival this Saturday, June 23 from 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m., and this Sunday, June 24 from 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. at Rainbow Lagoon Park. This year's festival will feature an expanded variety of music, offering a wider range of Cajun, Zydeco, and Blues artists. In addition to the traditional Zydeco, the festival will be adding a more contemporary flair with the sounds of newer, younger Zydeco music groups. Some of the featured artists include Chris Ardoin and NuStep; Joel Savoy, Jesse Lege and Cajun Country Revival; Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie; Zac Harmon; Guitar Shorty; Lil' Wayne and Same Ol' 2-Step; Barbara Morrison; Kevin Naquin and the Ossun Playboys; and more! This year's parade will also be expanded, and participants are invited to bring a mask or costume. The adult with the most original costume will win two Bayou Festival t-shirts! Tickets to the festival range anywhere from $10-$65 and can be purchased online, or at the gate the day of. Rainbow Promotions, LLC is a proud supporter of the Louisiana to Los Angeles Organizing Committee (LALA), whose projects "offer a wealth of Louisiana culture and celebrate the shared traditions of all Louisianans" while raising funds for local youth college scholarships.
